Yeast

Also known as: Baker's Yeast

Halal

A fermentation microorganism; halal.

Why?

Yeast is a microorganism grown on plant-based sugars (typically molasses) and used to leaven bread. It is halal; the trace alcohol produced during the bread-baking process evaporates and is not considered a halal concern by mainstream scholarly consensus.
