Non-Alcoholic Beer

Brewed like beer and can retain trace alcohol (often up to 0.5%); a genuinely debated topic.

Why?

Non-alcoholic beer is brewed the same way as regular beer, then has most of the alcohol removed — but most brands still legally contain up to 0.5% alcohol by volume, and it's still made via the same fermentation process as an intoxicant. Scholars are divided: some permit it since the remaining alcohol is non-intoxicating and it isn't consumed for its alcoholic effect, while others avoid it due to its resemblance to and production process shared with khamr (intoxicants). Fully 0.0% ABV versions are viewed more permissively by most.
