Halal

The sodium salt of vitamin C, typically synthetic or plant-derived; halal.

Why?

Sodium ascorbate is an antioxidant and preservative derived from ascorbic acid (vitamin C), which is usually produced synthetically or from plant sources such as corn. It has no animal-derived production pathway in common use, so it is considered halal.
